This Blog Endorses Barack Obama!
I didn't want to influence you all too soon, but the suspense is over. Like Republicans Colin Powell and William Weld (except that I'm not Republican) I am standing forth and urging everyone to vote tomorrow for Barack Obama for president! I'm serious. It's time to put an end to:
- Attacks on the environment
- Attacks on science
- Attacks on nations that did not attack us first
- Attacks on the Constitution
- Attacks on the separation of church and state
- Deceptions in the interests of money and power
- Dialogue with other nations, including those we disagree with
- Transparency and honesty in public policy
- A leader who reads, thinks, and is willing to listen to opposing points of view
- Concern for the environment, both global and local, and respect for real science
- Concern for the disadvantaged and the middle class, and not just the wealthy
- Sane fiscal policy, including an end to the massive drain caused by an ill-conceived war
Okay, that sounded like a campaign slogan—but I actually believe it's true. I probably didn't change anyone's mind with this, but I just wanted to go on the record one last time. I urge other Americans to support these Family Values. Amen.

I'm sorry I couldn't just completely ignore the post..I tried really I did.
For these reasons here:
Attacks on the Constitution
Attacks on the separation of church and state
Deceptions in the interests of money and power
Transparency and honesty in public policy
A leader who reads, thinks, and is willing to listen to opposing points of view

...I think maybe you have Obama confused with someone else. Transparency, honesty, and sane fiscal policy are areas that I really can't see have any application when speaking about Obama.
Me personally I would have voted for the Constitution party candidate if I thought he had a chance of winning. I did vote for a libertarian for state treasurer because of their stance on smaller government. I just can't see supporting candidates who think that the government needs to be involved in every aspect of our lives.
Do you think we'll ever agree on politics, Tim? Nah, probably not. That's okay, I have relatives who are conservative Republicans, and I still love 'em.
If anyone is thinking of voting (or not voting), you gotta read the product description on today's woot.com deal. Very funny.

Nah, my relatives are in Ohio and places south and west. Nary a one in New England. I'm the renegade.
And you know, there are still some conservatives in NH. A few. :) Actually, we keep electing Republican governors in Massachusetts (except for the current one). One of those funny contradictions.
